Where are the training sessions happening abroad?

Training sessions will occur at each location approximately every six months. Please check our course details for exact dates. Urooj Fouad will be facilitating all training courses.

How does the Hybrid format training at The Esthetic Institute work?

The Esthetic Institute has shifted the majority of its training to a Hybrid format to facilitate the best possible training experience for their students. Training always consists of theory as well as mandatory in-person practical training.*

*Some exceptions apply where we have adapted select courses to an online-only training platform.

Theory training is part of our online preparatory component that is completed using our post-secondary platform called Moodle, used by universities around the world. Our online platform includes professionally recorded theory lectures and demonstrations performed by TEI’s educators. Additional resources including the course manual, supplemental handouts, diagrams and images, PowerPoints and examinations are part of the online class experience. Two weeks before the in-person practical portion begins, students are given access to their module to provide adequate time to prepare in advance. This provides students with an opportunity to review theory, videos and other resources as much as needed prior to in-person training. Theory examinations and quizzes are also facilitated online to ensure competency has been achieved and demonstrated for each module.

In-person practical training involves students reviewing their theory as well as a comprehensive question and answer session from the online course. Students will always see a live demonstration performed by their instructor in the classroom to showcase the complete step-by-step procedure of the treatment including sanitization, disinfection, set up and take down. In addition, practical training involves students practicing on each other so each individual has an opportunity to give and receive the treatment (unless contraindicated) as well as working on live models.

How soon after will the practical training take place in my country?

Students will receive certification immediately upon successful completion (theory and practical requirements) of their program and will be able to perform the service on clients or in a spa setting.

Where are the courses being facilitated?

The Esthetic Institute will be facilitating training in prestigious hotels that uphold the highest professional requirements of the school. Students may be required to bring some supplies with them that may not be readily available by the hotel. Students are required to supply their own models. Students must have a white lab jacket to participate in professional training. Jackets are available for purchase through the school.

How will this certification help me in my country? How will this benefit me if I am already a certified Esthetician?

You will be earning a Canadian certification by an internationally accredited Canadian institution. This will help to elevate your credentials in your market. It will allow you to offer in-demand services in your market and expand your horizons and skillset.

If you already hold a credential in Esthetics whether it is in Esthetics or Advanced Clinical Esthetics, this prestigious certification will elevate your standards, knowledge and credentials in your territory!

What if I need support after my training is complete?

Urooj Fouad will continue to support certified students beyond their training. She will offer ongoing mentorship, answer questions and provide advice to all of her graduates.

Where can I purchase my supplies after the course is completed?

The Esthetic Institute is also owned and operated by Beauty Depot, one of the largest, professional wholesale distributors in Canada. Students will be able to purchase their professional supplies through Beauty Depot upon completion of the course.

Is there a prerequisite for acceptance?

Some of our courses do have prerequisites for acceptance. Please see course information for specific prerequisites. All Advanced Skincare modalities require students to take Facials Level I regardless of any previous credentials.

The CIDESCO Beauty & Spa Management Diploma program is open to all beauty professionals. Students must be proficient in reading and writing English and are subject to approval by the school’s Education Director.

How do I pay and how soon do I need to register?

Applicants are to register and pay through The Esthetic Institute’s website. You may pay by credit card or PayPal. Wire transfers are also available. Please email info@estheticinstitute.ca for more information.

If I applied for immigration to Canada, would these certifications benefit me in any way?

If you are well on your way to receiving immigration to Canada, these certifications will provide you with an employment advantage as you will already have a Canadian credential.

This intensive certified Facial course includes training in bacteriology and sanitation, cell structure, muscle and skeletal systems, skin histology and physiology, disorders and diseases, skin type evaluations, extractions and massage. Students will learn differentiating techniques that add relaxation and nurturing to the facial. Procedures will include a basic deep pore cleansing facial with steam, European facial and an introduction to acne, anti-aging, and sensitive skin facials. In addition, you will be introduced to the use of high frequency. Models required. Quotas required.

FACIALS LEVEL I ENHANCED ONLINE EXPERIENCE

Course Requirements – Students will be required to have a webcam (available for purchase if applicable) and be prepared with a set up for practical experience (a list of required supplies and equipment will be provided at the time of enrollment and in Moodle where you will access the online course)

Theory will be interactive and will require students to be in a quiet place with no distractions. A manual will be provided on the online platform prior to the live session for students to save and use as a resource. You will also receive a printed copy of your manual with your student kit.

Following the 4 days of live webinars, students will have at least 2 weeks to complete 6 facial practicum as part of their course and to aid in studying. A list of items recommended for students to have to facilitate their practical facials at home will be provided at time of registration and on the online platform. A kit containing all skincare required for facials will be provided and is included in the course fee.

Your scheduled exam date indicates the deadline for class so you will be required to submit your 6 quotas forms to your Google Drive and when your theory exam becomes available on Moodle, you are welcome to take the exam. A full video of your facial service is required for the final practical exam so please ensure you have a model arranged and have a phone, laptop or computer webcam to film the entire service; more detailed instructions will be provided upon enrollment. Students must have a Gmail account to access the online platform.

Prior to Course: Students must complete a mandatory 2 hour online Bloodborne Pathogen certified course offered through The Esthetic Institute. No additional charge for this certification.

A model is required with any of the following: scarring, hyperpigmentation, fine or deep lines. Students must pre-screen models for any contraindications prior to class. Students will only be permitted to receive this treatment and work on models between Fitzpatrick 1-4.

Students will be required to complete an online theory component before and during the course. Training at the school will be focused on achieving strong practical proficiency in Derma Needling.

Students will work on each other on day 1. Students will require two models each on day 2. You will be emailed regarding model time availability.

Finally, a clinically proven method of collagen induction without laser! Derma Needling (Micro-Needling) is perhaps the most successful treatment available for aging and acne scarring. This technique causes minimal invasive precision micro-injuries of the epidermis and the dermis. In turn, Derma Needling induces the skin’s own healing process and collagen production is proliferated.

This 2 day advanced derma needling course (taught in a hybrid format) will teach the principles of Derma Needling and will review skin anatomy focusing on the circulatory and nervous system and collagen production. Students will learn different methods including the InnoPen™, a revolutionary patented medical-grade device with a built-in double protective tip system that surpasses all others. This course is comprised of the teachings of the science behind Micro-Needling, theory and practical application, client consultation, application of topical anesthetics and after-care.

Students will be trained on one of the best CSA/FDA approved and Health Canada licensed 3 point device, which consists of surgical stainless steel needles that safely retracts immediately after usage to avoid micro-tearing of the skin, epidermal scratching, and cross-contamination. In addition, students will work with rollers providing hands-on experience practicing on each other and models. Students will leave this course feeling comfortable and confident to provide this exceptional service on their own.

NAIL CORRECTION WITH ONYFIX® 

The principle of the Onyfix® Nail Correction System is to bring an involuted nail back into a natural shape through normal growth without any tension or pain, following more or less proximal application of the Onyfix® Nail Correction System using a hardened composite. Your foot care expert first prepares the nail prior to application. The Onyfix® composite is then spread on the nail and shaped correctly. After the composite has hardened, the nail correction system fixes the nail in its proximal shape without any tension. 

The Onyfix® Nail Correction System ensures that this shape is retained as the nail grows naturally. When treatment has been completed successfully, your foot care expert removes the Onyfix® Nail Correction System, a process that is also pain-free. 

THE COMPONENTS 

The Onyfix® Nail Correction System consists of Onyfix® Primer, which acts as an adhesion agent, as well as Onyfix® Soft composite and Onyfix® Hard composite. Onyfix® Soft composite is suitable for small, thin and children’s nails. Onyfix® Hard composite is used for severely malformed nails, particularly on D1. In order to use the nail correction system to the best possible effect, you will need to roughen the surface of the nail, a cleaning agent to degrease the nail, cotton swabs to apply the primer, a metal spatula to shape the composite, curved cannulas for Onyfix® Soft composite, an LED blue light to polymerize the composite, and a ceramic bur or large toe nail nipper to correct or remove the nail correction system, if needed.
