To Our Valued Esthetic Institute Students,

On behalf of everyone at The Esthetic Institute, we sincerely hope that you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy in the comfort of your home and doing your best to maintain a positive mindset,amidst all that is happening in our world. It is likely that the past couple of weeks has brought upon feelings of uncertainty, confusion, and fear that is causing a degree of stress. It is important to remember that we are all in this situation together and we can only control how we respond to it. Your health and safety as always is our number one priority and concern. This is why our team of educators and administration have been working around the clock to find alternative methods to deliver our education curriculums to you. We have put our full attention over the past two weeks into a new education platform that will ensure you are able to continue momentum in your courses and diploma programs.

I am so pleased to announce the wonderful news to you! We successfully have been able to transition nearly 75% of our courses and diploma program modules to an online platform called Moodle. Our IT team has developed a professional, quality education platform, which will allow you to take your upcoming courses as they commence in your schedules online.

I want to share how this will work to help alleviate your questions and concerns.

Please note that this information applies for students who are in one of our diploma programs (Full Esthetic Program, Advanced Clinical Esthetic Program) or any individual, modular certified course that you have registered for.

1) Students who are registered in a course will receive an email from our administrator, email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it which will contain specific information for your upcoming online training. A separate email will come for each course that you are registered for as the training commences. We will do our best to ensure that this correspondence will be one week before the class begins. Please be patient with us as we move to the new platform.

2) Once our administrator has confirmed your attendance and participation in the course, she will request your payment in full unless you receive student aid or are on an existing payment plan.

3) All students enrolled in the online course will then receive an email from our online platform Moodle, which will include a special username and password allowing you only exclusive access to your upcoming course.

4) You will have access to your manuals digitally. In addition, students will also receive additional handouts pertinent to the course along with detailed instructions within Moodle that will outline the structure of your training.

5) DELIVERY OF STUDENT KITS

Students will receive the same kit that you would receive if you took the course at the school. Your student kit will either be delivered by a local courier or shipped out to you by a shipping company in advance of your training. Please note that we will do our best to ensure that you receive your kit before the course commences.

As there are some unknown factors with delivery times, we ask you to please have patience to receive your kit. Our intention is to have all kits shipped out at least one week before your course commences.

In most cases, your kit will not be required for you to begin the theory component of your training. The theory portion is always completed first and all of your material will be available for you to download online after you receive your access code.

6) ONLINE EDUCATOR LECTURES

Pre Recorded Professional Educator Lectures For the majority of our courses and workshops, we have chosen a lead educator from TEI who has pre-recorded a professional lectureto deliver the theory component of your online training. This will ensure that you are guided through your manuals in the same manner as you would if you were sitting in our actual classrooms.

Interactive ZOOM Lectures
In some courses that require more interactive learning, we have chosen to deliver the theory portion of your training with a modern video communication system called ZOOM. This easy and reliable platform allows our educators and students to communicate and interact together during a predetermined session date and time in which you will receive your theory lectures and even demos of the practical component.

To ensure a quality experience for you and the educator, it is imperative that you have a laptop or desktop with webcam. This will allow you to easily follow along with the lecture and simultaneously access your manual, Power Point presentations and graphics that the instructor will be sharing with you. It will also be important to watch demos or see information close up that the instructor is sharing in her classroom setting.

7) ONLINE DEMONSTRATIONS

Pre Recorded Professional Educator Demonstrations For the majority of our courses and workshops, we have chose a lead educator from TEI who has pre-recorded a professional demonstration of the service you are learning. The purpose of this demonstration is to resemble the treatment/service you would be watching in the classroom setting and will ensure that students are essentially receiving the same experience that you would have at the school. The demonstration will explicitly review from start to finish,a step by step procedure of your educator delivering how to perform the treatment. The purpose of us recording our own demonstrations is to protect the integrity of The Esthetic Institute’s high standard and quality of training and protocols.

Please note that there will be some classes that are theory only in nature and therefore this component would be eliminated.

8) PRACTICAL TRAINING

For some of your classes, you will receive a kit as mentioned above as we have determined that you may be able to start to perform or complete the entire practical portion of your training on live models.Direction will be givento you from us as to what you are required to do. In some courses that require more particular practical training guidance, you may be instructed to only perform a modified version of the treatment on yourself or a model. You will then be instructed to continue your practical portion of the training at The Esthetic Institute in following scheduled days.

Depending on the class or workshop,you will be given instructions on how many practicum or quotas that you must complete on models. Circumstances may prohibit you from working on multiple models outside of your home,in which case you will be given alternative instruction on how to practice on yourself or postpone quotas.

Specific instructions will be given for each class regarding the particulars of how to document, record and/or photograph your work.

If you are doing a ZOOM session, your instructor will be able to see firsthand your practical training online andmay require you to submit additional quotas.

9) Support for Online Students

We understand the importance of our students to have ongoing support for their online courses. For the majority of the courses, we will be setting up an interactive Zoom session for you at a designated time during or after your course where you will have a live 1 hour interaction with your educator. She will be able to answer questions, offer guidance and direction and give you continued support for your learning.

Our lead educator, Betty Ann Newtonleads our team with her extensive training in all areas of Esthetics and Clinical Esthetics and has been with The Esthetic Institute since 2001. She is happy to assist you in any way possible with your education!

Important Reminders

The Moodle platform we are using has been chosen by schools and universities across North American for its stability and versatility in supporting students in a variety of fields. We look forward to your feedback that will help us to improve our online classes for all of our students.

Lastly and most importantly, should you feel like you need additional training and would like to sit in on a class once we are open again, please do not hesitate to reach out and we will accommodate you into a class complimentary.
